D'You Know Juno - Liz Schwerd

Name: Liz Schwerd

Nickname: My old boss used to call me “The Bruiser”.  I think it was affectionate, referencing my assertive native?  More likely because I bruise like a peach.

Position @ Juno: Director, Project Recruitment Division

If you weren’t a Recruiter, what would you be? Probably a matchmaker.  Kind of the same thing – so I guess that’s a cop out!

Favorite thing about Philadelphia? All the Benjamin Franklin

Do you have any secret skills? Not possible. I brag even when I’m terrible at something.

If you were a TV or movie character, who would you be? I’d love to be a “Leslie Knope”, but I’m really just a “Liz Lemon”

You get to pick one person, dead or alive, to have lunch with – who would it be? Teddy Roosevelt! Preferably alive…

You are on death row – what is your last meal? Spaghetti and meatballs!

Favorite song of all time? If I Can Dream, Elvis Presley

Favorite movie of all time? This is sooooo hard.  Narrow it down to a genre, and I’d stand a chance – let’s do Horror and Comedy, and I’ll pick “The Final Girls”

If you could live anywhere else, where would it be? Anywhere that I can easily walk into an ocean

Where is the best cheesesteak in Philadelphia? Pat’s Pizza, in Point Pleasant, NJ!

Favorite family tradition? I love the way my family does Christmas gift giving.  It’s an incredibly long and involved process, can take the entire day if you do it right!

What is the best piece of advice you ever received? “There’s nothing so bad you can’t do it for 100 days.” Papa Schwerd

Biggest pet peeve? Inefficient highway merging – JUST ZIPPER PEOPLE - one car / one car!

What is your strangest recruiting/resume moment? My favorite resume goof was a candidate who had a typo in their job title – instead of “Candy Striper” she was a “Candy Stripper”.  The ensuing job details were hysterical.
